For her first solo album, Circuit Songs (2007), Live
Maria Roggen received Spellemannprisen in the open class. The album reveales nine self-written and self-produced songs about the feeling of being trapped, of breaking loose and about longing for another place than where you are. It's a very personal piece of work and breakthroug, which for real puts her on the modern jazzarena.
Today Live Maria Roggen is one of Norways greatest jazzvocalists and songwriters. She is teaching both at Musikkhøgskolen in Oslo and at
Jazzkonservatoriet in Trondheim, and performs under the name LiveBand.
