Maria Haukaas Storeng will release her third album Make My Day on the 14th of June 2010. The first single from the album is "Precious To Me" a duet with Swedish popstar Måns Zelmerlöw. The song is currently A-listed on P1 and it's on it's way to be one of 2010's summerhits.
Maria won the Norwegian final in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 with the song Hold On Be Strong written by colleague and friend Mira Craig. The song became one of the biggest hits of the year and sold to platinum, it also appeared on hit lists in Greece, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Turkey. Maria reached an incredible 5th place in the international Eurovison-final. Marias second album Hold On Be Strong was released by Universal Music in May 2008. Maria co-hosted the show in 2009, and this year she competed for the second time with the song Make My Day.
Born in the north of Norway on August the 3rd in 1978, Maria started singing at an early age. She was only 5 years old the first time she appeared in a concert in her hometown. At 11 she played the part as the orphan Annie in the major production of the musical hit-show Annie. Some years later she played Dorothy in the classic musical The Wizard Of Oz at Det Norske Teatret. She did her professional training in music, singing and acting at highschool and at college-grade. As a “grown up”-artist Marias been seen in numerous shows, theatre- and musicalproductions, such as Fame, Hamlet and Peer Gynt. Her first album Breathing was released in 2005.
